AAIS recently completed a mold
abatement project at a Hamden CT elementary school. The buildings
roof construction consisted of a lightweight concrete system
supported by steel. Under the steel, exposed in the classrooms, was a 3”
fiberglass board adhered to the concrete. Thirty years of roof leaks
turned this fiberglass into a 30,000 square foot Mold Spoor Colony.
The school system crowding prohibited the Administration from
vacating the school. Two classrooms were emptied and then abated on
second shift. State of the art Negative Pressure Containments
allowed the school to operate during the day, while crews eliminated
mold at night. |
